Canon 5Dmk1
Bower 14mm
Whew! Back from a 4-day camping trip in the Black Hills All three nights, we had to weather storms in our tents. Luckily, mine held up and kept us dry Tried chasing storms every day, but every time we got to a storm, it would collapse. They only wanted to seem to fire at night, simultaneously ruining our chances to shoot stars and to get sleep. On our last night there, we did have a brief window of clear skies which allowed me to capture this image of the milky way Unfortunately, this spectacular view didn't last long! The starry night sky was soon washed away by an outflow-dominant storm rolling over the high terrain
I usually put borders on my images, but putting a boundary above the endless limits of the night sky simply felt like a crime. So, this one will remain open and un-bordered
