Shooting snowflakes at night can be incredibly challenging. It takes a lot of patience, I can tell you that much. Half an hour bent over a table, searching for the glinting flakes that are asking to be shot. Trying to find that flake in your viewfinder after its sparkle catches your eye. And then once you do get your shot in focus... a gust of wind carries your subject away. Shots like these make it all worth it, though. I love the details these challenging lighting conditions bring out in the flakes. If you look closely, you can see all of the contours of the surface of the flake, and even some of the symmetrical bubbles inside of the structure. They're all different, and it's kind of crazy 8-)

Please tell me what you think!
