I literally freaked out after I saw this flash of lightning and half a second later, its existence preserved on my camera's LCD screen. One thing I realized this summer was that although I don't curse a lot, when crazy stuff like this happens, I just can't help it

This was taken on our way back west to Omaha, NE on July 14th, 2010. There were some sunset mammatus, soon followed by a crazy lightning show. What a great way to end a day of chasing. This image is entirely unedited other than resizing and adding my watermark in the corner
