Canon 40D
18-135mm kit

Spent this last weekend chasing. Stuff looked to be relatively close to home, i.e. my home state, a couple days out. Unfortunately, that didn't end up being the case when it came time to chase :P Headed west through north-central Nebraska all the way to just past the Wyoming border. Caught this ground-scraping wall cloud underneath a tornado-warned supercell west of Yoder, WY  Unfortunately, it didn't end up producing! A lot of driving for little reward, but that's how it goes sometimes. At least I can cross another state off my list =D

Looks like a scene from the Wizard of Oz.

The Black and White makes it even more ominous. As if the energy represented by color has been drawn out of the weather leaving behind it's basic components of light and dark. With each individual color taking sides in the coming storm.

Wyoming Should be the ONLY state on your list....

They say money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a home in Wyoming, and that is pretty damn close...

I'll have to make a trip out there sometime just to see the mountains. Only got to see the Cheyenne Ridge and Laramie Peak in the distance :P

Man, you don't know what you are missing. A friend of mine once said: "People come to Wyoming to see Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. What they don't know is that they need to see the Red Desert as well."

If you ever make it over to southwest Wyoming, let me know. I'll show you the cool secrets, The interstate was built in the most boring places.

Ok, this is getting freaky...I was heading back from Cheyenne that particular day and saw this very storm. I have two sisters that live in Yoder, so instead of grabbing my camera, I grabbed my cell phone and called them to take cover!

Cool you got a shot or two of it.

No way!! That's crazy =D We almost ended up in Cheyenne. Should have kept following a storm east of Kimball, NE. Missed a landspout, but ended up with some great landscapes at Chimney Rock instead :P That was some insane rotation in that wall cloud though. Can't believe it didn't produce :phew:
