Winter's Halo

Witness the power of nature...


Shot this a couple years ago during a particularly good sun halo display. Probably the brightest 22-degree sun halo I've ever seen! Occasionally you'll see a bright arc above the sun (upper tangent arc) or a couple bright sundogs on the side, but very rarely will you see a full sun halo that's actually bright There's been hardly anything in the way of atmospheric optics this year, so let's hope the 2012-13 winter produces some great displays
