Okay! Finally back to posting some images. Had to finish up an entire series of wildlife images and an image account before I could post these.
Spring of 2011 was a fantastic migration season for Squaw Creek NWR. Before we worked our way around the lake to shoot the record 1.3 million snow geese, we stopped to shoot some other wildlife. Watching these American Coots was absolutely fascinating. I had no idea they had green feet! Part of their take-off process involved flapping their wings and running across the surface of the water. Wish I had high-speed video of this, but this still image will have to do
