Trying to Turn

Continuing with the trend of posting my more recent images first since my archive drive isn't on hand at the moment Took this about a week ago while chasing in north-central Nebraska. Was really hoping storms could go up, turn right and remain isolated... but it just didn't happen. Storms didn't turn right and instead all blew up at once, essentially killing any tornado potential for the day. Sort of a waste of good atmospheric dynamics if you ask me!

This was our initial view of the cell near Ewing, NE. Got hopeful as the storm began to develop a lowering underneath a new updraft push, and a nice crisp anvil being lofted downstream. Unfortunately, she just couldn't get it done! Hopefully we'll have more opportunities to see isolated storms near home later this summer
