As the storm drew nearer, we couldn't help but stop and stare at the incredible structure. Decided to process this one a little bit "rougher" to bring out the sharp textures in the striations of the updraft. Can you see the corkscrewing motion? It was truly breathtaking :wow:

Please tell me what you think!

This is amazing. I wish more of these would pop up around central Ohio. Perhaps I need to move out west...
I have never seen such a clear shot of an updraft like that before. You can literally see the upward-funneling shape in it. I have to ask, did that mesocyclone produce a tornado?
I'm not going to lie. I totally envy you for being in the position to capture something like this. :XD:

Yeah I have no idea how we got such a clear view. updraft completely seperated from the precip, so we had a rain-free base and everything. It produced a couple tornados before we got there, as well as a brief one later that night

Totally awesome man. This is going on my bucket-list somehow. ^^

Finding a school with the classes to study weather is a bit of a challenge, though. But I think I'm on the general path.

that is magnificent structure! Hell of a lot of shear off the side of that monster cell.
