My mom (being the amazing person that she is) was kind enough to drive me to a location with a better view to the south. A week later, I got my license lol so now I can do that on my own. This was one of my first successful lightning shots of the night, a spectacular CG (cloud to ground) bolt smashing to the ground just a few miles south of me. The image is a bit grainy, but I still wanted to share this shot simply for the incredible lightning bolt.

Pretty photo! I love the way the colors merge to accentuate the bolt of lightening. You were at the right place with this one. You can't get too close. Great job.

i know what u mean about grainy, i get it too when shooting lightning. I think its a sensor size issue.
