east of McCook, Nebraska
Dropped the western storm as it trended down and hopped on a nicely-structured high-precipitation storm to the east. There was a solid patch of really nice mammatus ("boobs of nature" for the immature )under the anvil, occasionally flickering with lightning. Sorry about the noise, I boosted the contrast of this one a bit to bring out their depth

i have wondered what these were called for a long time-- with a little research i mighta found out, but ususally too distracted by the weather in the meantime to remember! i'm in FL on the suncoast, so we see these-- often enough yeah, but also rarely enough to think they're always cool in the late afternoon light! nice capture! i been lovin your storm photos on here, hope you're still at it!
