Mechanics of Flight by FramedByNature Mechanics of Flight by FramedByNature
Canon PowerShot SD1000

Not only did he get his wings out, but he even got his front legs to lift off! Certainly some lucky timing. It's unlikely that I'll be able to duplicate it =D
This was taken a few weeks back, when the fall foliage was at its peak. The colors were fantastic, and the variety provided for some astounding bokeh. Now, all the leaves are gone, and the weather is cold. Luckily, every time I look back at this photo, I can remember how pleasant it was. One of my favorite autumn shots, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Please tell me what you think!

Very slick! For such a tiny window of opportunity, the focus and angle are really keen. I think it would be incredibly difficult to capture this moment again, especially with such excellent lighting and colors. Definitely one of my all-time faves. I'm a sucker for ladybugs, but this was just super!

Is there such a thing as a "fave en-masse" function for dA?

All your pictures are just ... breathtaking! The colours are so clear and... you definitely know how to do stunning photographs! I added some to my favs (I would have loved to add ALL your pictures, but then it would have been a bit confusing...).

Amazingly well done! :) Love it! :aww:

Whoa! Awesome though it is, I am now more disgusted by lady bugs than I was before. They are so icky. D= *just really really hates bugs* You know. Everyone keeps talking about fall foliage being gone. Shoot. Unless it's really been THAT long since I went outside, most trees are only just starting to show signs around here.

Really? It's been below freezing and windy just about every night, so all of the leaves have blown away :o

XD Yeah. I live in Mid California, so the weather is still quite fair. Coldest it's been at night was either um... I think I must be hallucinating that I saw 22. We probably wont hit below 39 until sometime in December. Low 40's is out usual night, and we've been having a bit of a warm streak this week. Was like 76 yesterday and hot today ><
