Finally got one of these little blue butterflies, Cupido minimus, to stay still long enough for a few photos. Not the most interesting pose, but I'm just glad I got something sharp :)

It's so cute!

I have lots of pictures of "baby" monarch butterflies (I assume they were babies, they were very very tiny versions of them xD). I'd post them but they're nowhere near the quality of your photos.

The common name for these guys is either Blue Hairstreak or Gray Hairstreak. For any who aren't so familiar with them, when Evan says small, he means it; they're about the size of a nickel when looked at from the side.

Nice shot, Evan. These butterflies really are rather twitchy buggers.

Thanks man, got lucky since she was more cooperative while feeding ;) Was shocked that she ever stopped at all!

I totally understand that man. I'm familiar those little buggers. The same is true with those white butterflies. It's a wonder they can navigate at all!

Yeah, the outside of the wings is mainly gray/white (doesn't help that the flash washes out some color) but you can see a tinge of blue along the top fringe :)
