Hoar frost Get your minds out of the gutter, it's not a typo. Love it when frost like this forms, as crystals this pristine are fairly rare. Your typical frost usually comes in a sheet or tiny fractal-like patterns that are really not all that photogenic. These crystals are rather large (several centimeters across) and much "thicker" than your typical frost. They're also isolated from each other, which makes them easy to shoot Basically, if there's a ton of moisture in the air and the temperature is below freezing, moisture will nucleate around specks of dirt on the car and grow out to form these crystals
