Witness the power of nature - Framed By Nature .NET

While trying to shoot the Vivian, SD record hailing supercell, these massive cloud-to-ground anvil bolts kept crashing down in the field right in front of us! We were miles from the updraft, yet this beast continued to throw nickel-sized hail at us despite being nowhere near the core. :shakefist:

This was by far one of my favorite chases so far. I've got loads of more images, some of which I likely won't submit to deviantArt. So if you'd like to see more and read about the experience, check out the image account on my site here: [link]

Please tell me what you think! 8-) :highfive:

Wow this is lovely! I'd love to come out to the central USA/Canada and chase a few storms. The rare ones we get around here on the west coast do not keep me satisfied haha. Usually its far too wet to get any decent pics of the lightning (rain/cloud makes it hazy), but the exception was two nights ago when we had an insane storm for around here. [link] [link] ... I loved the photos on your website too, sounds like you have a lot of fun doing what you do (and those cloud forms look amazing). Thanks for sharing! :)

loved looking through the images on your site!

how do you manage to get so many thunder photos? do you live in an area where it's always storming?

Thanks for looking! :)
I live in the Midwest, where organized thunderstorms are (usually) pretty common through spring and summer. I'm also fortunate enough to know several others locally who share a common interest in weather, so sometimes we end up driving hundreds of miles to see storms
