:star: Witness the power of nature...:star:

Lightning, one of the things I love shooting the most. School, one of the things I despise most. :XD: Shot this bolt a couple years back framed above my high school. Nice to be able to shoot lightning without getting wet, but this bolt sent me running back to the car regardless =D Always seems silly, running for your life after the danger has passed, but it's such a gut reaction. Luckily, I don't think I missed any good bolts after this. ;)

I always loved this lighting shots , I always thought of lighting shots as always being fit to be only in horror movie posters but now I see that they are so damn beautiful and amazing that they could fit into any theme!

What settings do you use to get shots like this one? Just a mid-slow shutter speed and a ND filter, or anything special?

Another magnificent shot but be careful, dude! I'm going to pay especial attention to your ISO, exposure time, and f-stop because I tried some lightning shots a few days ago but I got more flash than bolt. I think I had the aperture too wide. Certainly the ISO was too high at 400 (it was film).

ME ALMA MATER!

Very nice shot. There were days when that building was indeed evil, but I do miss it sometimes. SOMETIMES.

Wow...this is beautiful. Lightning just has that humbling kind of feeling. Its terrifying, but at the same time, you can;t help but stare at it and may even forget where you are...which has happened to me many times when i've seen lightning storms head my way. Again beautiful photo.

Lightning has that effect to make you want to duck and cover Ha!!

Masterful shot man, the bolt before I went out for the shots I got practically made us Jump Under the couch!! Even with the blinds closed we saw it flash and the thunder was so instant and Loud it shook the apartment!

great shot! I always love your pictures. I'm actually deathly afraid of thunderstorms, but I love looking at pictures of them. it's a bit weird, I suppose.

Using your camera (+tripod) during an electrical storm--yikes! do you use any safety guards like a wooden plank or such? Your photos a great. That sky is totally awesome. I love the warm tones. Again, the side disrtortion adds to the beauty of this shot. Nice.

I'm not always standing by my camera as it takes these photos. If the lightning is close, I'll leave the camera close by but take shelter in my car. I probably don't use the safest practices to be honest ^^; There were certain taller, more tempting things around to strike instead of me or my tripod, but you never know.
