Earthshine Above Jupiter by FramedByNature Earthshine Above Jupiter by FramedByNature
March 25th, 2012
Omaha, NE

Stepped out on the deck this evening to shoot the conjunction and was particularly struck by the moon's earthshine (light bouncing off the earth and being reflected onto the shadowed portion of the moon). Framed Jupiter in the lower left, along with a few of its visible Galilean moons ;)

Please tell me what you think! 8-)

i actually watched the moon tonight too, and i noticed being able to see the whole thing as seen here. it's so brilliant how the entire moon is visible, and that portion of it just... glows.

It's awfully gorgeous for such a simple picture. I think it's the simplicity that makes it so breathtaking, at least in my opinion. Lovely shot, as always!
