December Crystals II by FramedByNature December Crystals II by FramedByNature
:star: Witness the power of nature...:star:

One of my favorite things to shoot during the winter is frost crystals. The typical day-to-day frost isn't real spectacular, but once in a while on a warmer day you'll get these hoar frost crystals. They're particularly large, measuring more than a few centimeters in diameter. This one was found on our car windshield during a Christmas visit to my grandparents in Kansas :) It may not be an extreme thing to photograph, but just like a supercell thunderstorm, every single one is unique!

Speaking of snow, did you know that from this winter on, Winter Cyclones in the US will be getting names like tropical cyclones.

The first one will be Winter Storm Athena, or Blizzard Athena if it gets strong enough.
