Day 322 of 365

My first legitimate star trail! I didn't think many stars would show up (shooting from midtown Omaha = bad light pollution), so I was quite pleased to see it turn out this well. This is an 8-hour trail, taken during the time frame from about 8:30pm to 4:30am. Approx. 900 30-second images. :)
Note: the camera wasn't bumped, I need to send my lens back to the factory for its softness *sigh*

:omg: This is so awesome! I wonder why I never thought that it would take that many pictures to make star trails...

How do you get the camera to automatically take the pictures?

I assume it'd be the same on my 500D...

This image contains more stars than I have seen with my eyes. damn, NYC, for it's light pollution. Such beauty lost.

Thanks! It definitely required a lot of persistence, mostly checking the camera, making sure not to bump it, changing the battery without moving it, etc. :)
