Knew there would be optics today as I walked to my morning class. The clouds were just right, some low level moist clouds, coupled with the COLD temps, meant that there would likely be ice crystals producing atmospheric optics. Unfortunately, I had class Tyler Burg caught a great CZA while I was in class and uploaded a photo to Twitter here: [link] I hate missing optics, especially while sitting in a frustrating class (drawing with colored pencils for 2 hours...blech). I caught my own circumzenithal arc later in the day, though it wasn't nearly as bright as Tyler's. Don't let the sand volleyball court in the foreground fool you, it was very cold lol. Guess I can't complain though, especially after seeing so few optics last winter. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come
