Day 31 of 365

Not the greatest photo of a snowflake I've taken, but it's the best I could manage today. Flakes were all small and broken by the wind, so it was very rare to encounter a complete one like this. Snow day tomorrow, expect better snow shots :)

Still another good one. Do we have any understanding of why the 6 points follow rules of symmetry? I have always wondered.

Thanks! It's the molecular geometry of H20 molecules. When the two Hydrogens bond with the one Oxygen atom, they form a bent-line shape, making a 120-degree angle. You can see this 120-degree angle when the water freezes. :)
