Witness the power of nature at Framed By Nature .NET

A rocky peak, dotted with patches of orange (dead) pines, stands contrasted against the distant rolling Black Hills. The damage to the pine trees occurs devastatingly fast and is spread by the Mountain Pine Beetle.

Been a few days since I've posted on here, just been busy/exhausted since getting back from an impromptu trip to the Black Hills. Trying to get in one last hoorah before summer break ends ;) Back to school in less than a week! Wanted to put up something recent, so here's a shot taken during our hike through Custer State Park late in the morning, looking over the Black Hills. I always thought they were just glorified rocks/hills, but no, those are some legitimate mountains. Maybe not quite the Rocky Mountains, but some formidable peaks nonetheless. We ended up hiking Harney Peak (7000 feet) and spending the night up there :faint: Many photos to come! :la:

Please tell me what you think!

That's... incredible! The background looks so artificial, but I know it's real! O_O

We have them beetles in our woods too, not much we can do about it, damage is terrifying, though...
Didn't know you had those in the Americas as well.
