August 1st, 2014

Took a trip to Estes Park, Colorado to shoot a wedding for a friend  They didn't have room in the cabin for us to stay, so we had to camp outside the first night we were there. Fine with me! :la: With a view like this, I had zero complaints. Mountain living with the Milky Way out your front door... must be rough :P Didn't have a lens fast/wide enough to shoot this scene the way I wanted, so I put the 50mm f/1.4 on the 5D1 and took a 14-image panorama capturing the scene. Took a while to process this one because my computer was giving me some issues... but cleared up some hard drive space and got it all sorted out. Well worth the effort! =D

I have the same problems when creating panorama's in Photoshop! anymore than a few pictures and it begins hogging my memory and just becoming unusable, it's a really impressive photo and faved :D

Thank you so much! I solved my memory issue by getting rid of iMovie and iTunes, two default programs that I never use =D PS is weird how it deals with memory. There's no way to clear the "cache" other than just closing and restarting the program.

This is amazing. Definitely something which can't be seen in my country. For a moment I thought it was a photomanipulation!

Thanks! I know, to get something like this around my home it'd definitely have to be a manipulation, or at least a blend of two separate exposures. Not the case here =D

Thanks! Just need a good dark sky, a tripod, and a long exposure :) Fast apertures and high ISOs help as well, but really, the most important thing is just getting away from the city lights. Glad you like the photo! :highfive:

Thanks, How long did you expose for this image? I find that with overly long exposures the stars blur which I do not want
