An abandoned farmhouse creeks in the wind as the sun sets on North Bend, Nebraska. The house has since been leveled since I shot this. It used to be one of my favorite dark sky locations to shoot, allowing my to make star timelapses such as this: [link] Now that she no longer stands, though, the search has begun for a new favorite foreground These abandoned structures are a dying breed and becoming increasingly difficult to find. Although it may now be gone, I'm glad I had the chance to document it while it still stood!

I completely agree! My county here takes a VERY dim view of abandoned structures: it clashes with their vision of utopia. The last ghost town shoot I did in Brewster was five years ago. It was leveled less than a year later by the largest phosphate mining company in the state. I only wish that I had my current skill level and equipment back then so I could have better documented the past.
