12 Pointed Wonder

Done with the bird images from Squaw, now back to posting the regular ol' December stuff (yes, I'm that far behind). This was one of the first snowflakes from our first major snowstorm of the season. It's so strange looking back at images where you can see grass on the ground... This snowflake has 12 points as opposed to the usual 6. These rarer 12-pointed flakes are created when 2 snowflakes (that have formed close to each other while falling through the atmosphere) collide and stick to each other.
